Relationship can be an incredibly rewarding path of growth and connection, but that’s not
always how it feels. Couples counseling can be an opportunity to discover and rediscover the best in yourself and your partner, to learn to live and relate from that which is already whole in you, and to step out of the old patterns which keep you stuck.
From my Brattleboro office, I offer skillful, strength-based counseling for individuals and couples who want to:
- get unstuck from old patterns
- develop better communication skills
- use relationship challenges as an opportunity for growth
- enhance intimacy and keep the relationship vibrant
- build (or rebuild) a strong foundation for the future

Using a compassionate approach which brings out the best in each person, my approach to couples therapy is very much rooted in an integrative model. By weaving together western and eastern psychology with gentle, yet effective cutting-edge approaches for shifting ingrained patterns, couples are able to transform and strengthen their relationships from the inside out.
Primary influences for my couples work include the Developmental Couples Model of Ellyn Bader, PhD, which emphasizes healthy differentiation and attachment in couples relationships, the Emotional Focused Couples Therapy model developed by Sue Johnson, PhD, and the wholeness-oriented couples therapy approaches consistent with Hakomi Therapy and the Internal Family Systems model. As with all of my work, mindful attentiveness and compassionate curiosity are central. My approach is collaborative and respectful, and is always uniquely tailored to the needs of the individual couple and their goals.
